Celebrate the festive season with our December swimming events, bringing together cold-water swimming, Christmas cheer, and community spirit. This year, we’re hosting two much-loved events, our Christmas Swim and the Boxing Day Dip ’N Swim, each offering a unique way to enjoy the water during the holidays.
Whether you’re a regular open water swimmer or simply looking to try something festive and fun, our December events are the perfect way to end the year.
Christmas Swim – Saturday 20th December 2025
Grab your Christmas hat, pull on your festive swimwear, and come and dip into Christmas with us at our annual Christmas Swim.
This relaxed, festive open water swim is a favourite with our swimming community. After your swim, stay with us to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere — we’ll be continuing our tradition of mince pies, mulled wine, Christmas jumpers, and festive tunes.
Christmas Swim Details
- Date: Saturday 20th December
- Cost: £7 per swimmer
- Requirements:
- All swimmers must hold a valid NOWCA band
- Included in your swim:
- A mince pie
- A warming cup of mulled wine
This event is ideal for confident open water swimmers looking to enjoy a festive session in a safe and friendly environment.
Boxing Day Dip ’N Swim – Charity Event
Our Boxing Day Dip ’N Swim is a long-standing festive tradition and one of our most popular events of the year. It’s the perfect way to blow away the Christmas cobwebs while supporting an incredible cause.
Participants can choose a quick dip or enjoy a longer festive swim, all while raising vital funds for The Midlands Air Ambulance.
Boxing Day Dip ’N Swim Timings
- Arrival & Registration: 10:00 AM
- Dip: 10:30 AM
- Swim Session: 10:45 – 11:15 AM
How to Take Part
- Minimum donation: £5 per person (cash only)
- All proceeds go directly to The Midlands Air Ambulance
- Participants must be 16 years or older
Every donation helps support life-saving emergency care across the Midlands.
Spectators Welcome – Warm Drinks Available
Not planning to get in the water? Spectators are more than welcome at both events.
Come along to support the swimmers, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and warm up with a hot drink from the BluWater Parlour, which will be open throughout our December events.
